Pruning Woody Plants

On Sunday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m., learn the secrets of pruning woody plants.  We will learn how plant hormones and physiology dictate their response to pruning, the proper way to make cuts, the best tools for pruning, and the appropriate timing of pruning for a variety of woody plants.  Jennifer Forrence, Master Gardener and head gardener at Cylburn Arboretum, will lead the discussion.  Jennifer planted her first vegetable garden at age five.  In college she did intensive gardening in the raised beds that she constructed behind her rented house.  In recent years, she has focused on ornamental horticulture and has taken numerous courses in plant science and design at Longwood Gardens.
